Dog owners must end their entitled behavior

Re “Small kids at dog park unwise” letter by Diana Mardall.

Ms. Mardall says she has seen children playing in public areas "where many dogs defecate." I would ask her, is it not the responsibility of dog owners to clean up after their dogs?

I also declare that I am sick and tired of the national obsession (aided and abetted by marketers) with dogs. I'd like to say this to the freshly-tattooed 50-something woman who brings her Mexican pooch with her when she comes into the convenience store to purchase lottery tickets; to the old man in the camo cap who drives a pick-up around Conway and props up his lapdog in the open drivers-side window; and to my neighbor, who allows her dog to roam around and poop in other yards, including mine.

Obviously, I am calling for enforcement of existing laws. Dog-owners should scoop or be fined; the tattooed woman should not be allowed to bring her dog into the store; the old man should be ticketed for distracted driving.
