Myrtle Beach native still making us proud
Former Myrtle Beach High School student, Archie H. Graham, has given this great beach town another reason to celebrate its citizens. Mr. Graham was inducted into the Augusta International Raceway Preservation Society Hall of Fame on Sept. 15. He is also a member of the National Hot Rod Association and Championship Drag Racing Member Track.
With the help of former principal and late Mr. W. C. Newton, Archie went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force, where he received honors and recommendations for his engineering aptitude. This experience led him to become one of the South’s leading builders of Super Stock, Micro Midget, Drag, and Daytona cars.
At the age of 84, Mr. Graham continues to build and amaze the racing community, and we are all proud to say that his career started right here in Myrtle Beach.
A big round of applause for one of your finest.
