We need watchdogs in car insurance
To the S.C. citizen drivers and car owners. Look at your auto insurance policy declaration page and you will note what the S.C. government doesn’t tell you. Not only do they tax your vehicle yearly but, by being a responsible citizen and having auto insurance, they also tax you yearly. The State nor does DMV advertise that, nor do they tell you where all that money is and has been going since the tax code is by district. They tax responsible car owners, but the Congress lacks the fortitude to levy a tax on 10s of thousands of hazardous, untaxed, uninsured, unregistered trailers on the roads every day, tearing up our highways with impunity. Maybe we need an accounting of where that money has been going all these years, it definitely hasn’t been to make our highways safer to drive.
