Counter-protesters were the real problem

A peaceful protest to protect a monument, Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s longstanding statue, and part of United States history from utter and total rewriting is a good thing and should be allowed. However, to allow a counter demonstration at the same time to attack and harass these protestors is just wrong.

To send the monument protestors through a gauntlet of counter demonstration protestors is just promoting anger and violence. When you are attacked and spit on, you cannot expect a positive and loving response. Someone is going to snap, and that happened; then for the politicians and media to condemn the monument protestors and to encourage the removal of all Confederate Monuments is just political and media bullying.

Do you think that there will not be consequences for these unjust actions? No. According to Newton’s Third Law, "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."

More examples of political and media bullying:

  • What was their response to President Obama with the 2014 anarchy in Ferguson? Nothing. There was no or very little outrage by the Obama administration or the media of the rioting, looting and violence.

To minimize political and media bullying, we need to:

  • Have laws and regulations control protests. Uncontrolled protests are just the start of anarchy. It is good to say that we should be more Christian and love each other and turn the other cheek, but that is not normal human nature.
  • If you want to have a protest, you need to have a permit, which controls the protest area, time and the behavior. Competing protests should not be allowed in the same area at the same time.

God bless America, and God bless President Donald Trump.
