Too many excuses about nuke plant failure
Santee Cooper board chairman Leighton Lord should be held responsible for his, and the other board members, total lack of judgment -- and plain stupidity.
Most galling is his comment as to why he said nothing to legislators about the disastrous conditions surrounding the project: "We could have told legislators but was concerned about making public statements to taking public actions that could affect the myriad contractors and companies involved in the project."
Really? Who does he think is responsible for this $9 billion fiasco?!
To be honest, I don't know if our legislators don't share some of the blame. They seemed to be blind, deaf and dumb for nine years before asking the question posed by Sen. Campbell, "What the hell is going on?"
I'll tell you, we, the punching bag public, will once again bear the brunt of this financial blunder.
Totally Disgusted.
