Collective action is inspiring
The image of Houstonians forming a human chain rescuing an elderly gentleman from his flooded truck is seared in my brain.
Had any one or two not lent their hands, this collective effort may not have succeeded. No one was labeled anything; they are known for their selflessness and humanity. So it should be with health care.
A single-payer system is like a human chain. If we all contribute some, then lives can be saved, aided or restored to health. Each of us, at some time or other, will be that elderly gentleman in a flooded truck.
With a single-payer health system, there is hope for all.
