Democrats are problem, not GOP

Re Donna Crile letter of May 28, "Republicans trying to jettison Constitution"

You don't know what you're talking about. When I went to school we were taught that when the government takes over everything that is socialism. This is like Venezuela, Russia and China, for a few examples, almost like President Obama wants to do to us today.

When FDR came up with Social Security it was supposed to be for a while till things got better. His son has written about this for you to check out. Along comes Vietnam, that John F. Kennedy got us into and then LBJ decides to unlock Social Security money to pay for the war and every Democratic president has dipped into it since.

You claim Medicare will be taken away and it probably will if we don't smarten up and quit trying to use the scare tactics used by the Obama gang. You should concentrate on telling our so-called politicians to do away with Medicaid and to cut down on foreign aid. How much did other countries send over to help the people of Missouri?

It's the Democrats who want to take our guns away from us, not Republicans.

As far as subsidizing oil companies, you don't seem to be bothered by Obama subsidizing all this green energy. Lastly, consider those great unions that donate to the Democratic party so that Obama can opt them out of Obamacare. If it's so great, why would you want to bail out of it?

Michelle malkin

Hate-filled columns help nobody

While everyone is entitled to an opinion and one would hope that an open minded public would be interested in all sides of an issue, I am nonetheless troubled by The Sun News publishing Michelle Malkin all too frequently. Malkin was just about thrown off the air by Chris Mathews never to return due to her wildly frantic ranting. She is without a doubt one of the most hate-filled right wing conservatives who will slam anything liberal, Democratic or that is in anyway connected to President Obama. I steadfastly refuse to even bother to read her column because it will be full of lies and totally negative. You the print media should really choose contributors that have some chance of being credible, a trait she certainly lacks.

Speaking of credibility, another of your less frequent contributors, Bill O'Reilly, has in my mind lost any reason to be believed when he stated in a column recently that in 15 years at Fox News he did not come across one person who is a racist. To me, anyone in America who can say with a straight face that he/she has not encountered a racist in their workplace in 15 years is a bold-faced liar. Unless O'Reilly only sees a racist as someone who dons the white robes and has participated in lynchings, then he cannot be credible for anything that he may say or write.

News choices

Highlight troops, not strippers

On May 1, The Sun News ran on the front page an article titled, "Golfer's lure: links and minx." The article showed a scantily dressed pole dancer and went on to describe the moves of the dancer and her performance for money. I felt this was a very distasteful and low class article for the front page of a respected, family-read newspaper. The article should have been printed in the Local or Sports section.

In turn, on May 19 The Sun News ran an article titled, "Wounded Marine greeted by warm welcome home" and written by Josh Dawsey. The article was on the front of the Local section and was well written and very touching. The Local section was the appropriate location, but if it had been printed on the front page, the only people who would complain would be some commie, red pigs.

My hat is off to Dawsey for such a nice article.
