Myrtle Beach curfew should include more young people
This is for Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Longs and all other local areas having a problem with the recent violence and shootings.
The only way to restrict these criminal acts is to restrict the criminals involved. The city must impose a curfew for all youth below the age of 25. I know some of these people are going to say that they are adults if they are above the age of 21. But we have to look at which individuals are causing the problems.
The curfew must be imposed starting at 12:30 a.m. every day of the week.
It’s like my parents said to me and what I passed on to my children, that nothing good happens after midnight.
This adage is true, for it seems that the shootings, domestic violence, shoplifting, heroin sales, etc., are all going on in the wee hours of the morning. Make these people go home, and we will all be amazed by the reduction in crime and shootings.
If we care to get into profiling, then we have to do it. We all know the type of people we are dealing with are the uneducated, low-intelligence sector. This is white and black, men and women, gun toters, drug dealers, prostitutes, and the late-night party crowd.
It also means that the streets and stores and vendors and bars will have to check IDs to allow entry into their businesses.
This is the only way to get the streets safe again and allow our vacationers to enjoy themselves. Get the riff raff of the streets.
