Personal responsibility key to solving problems in Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach is no longer the town in which we grew up in. People want change, but how many are willing to start that change in their own home? Start by teaching your children to be responsible for their actions.
You can have all the community programs you, want but if change does not start in the home, do you think these programs will change things?
Teach your children manners, respect and that they are accountable for their own actions. The other thing is the poor driving habits now days.
People think a turn lane is for them to accelerate through a red light, yellow means speed up, and a stop sign means slow down, take one peek, and oncoming traffic is supposed to yield to them. How come when people get behind a 3500-pound machine they lose all common sense?
If respect and manners are taught in the home, maybe it will show in both areas. Unless people are taught to be responsible for their actions, why would they change?
