Ban the single-use plastic bag in the Myrtle Beach area
The invention of single-use plastic bags was a monumental mistake. We must admit we erred and correct the problem.
These plastic bags do not biodegrade. They stay in our landfills forever. They break down into tiny bits and pieces and find their way into our oceans and land, killing our animals and sea life, who ingest the plastic thinking it's food.
We must stop producing and stop using this item. Reusable cloth bags, paper bags and cardboard boxes are a few alternative options. Many cities and countries have already banned these bags.
We need to voluntarily stop using or pass an ordinance to ban single use plastic bags.
