CCU is a top-notch university
Re “CCU becoming a public nuisance; time to shut it down” letter by Mike Knight.
Residents of Conway and people around the world are beginning to develop a negative opinion about my school; however, no one understands how Coastal Carolina truly is, except for the students.
The school is absolutely gorgeous. The faculty is phenomenal. The education is incredible.
Coastal has trained professional players for the National Football League, Major League Baseball and the Professional Golf Association. Scientists, business owners, professors, lawyers and others have graduated from this university. To say my school needs to be shut down because of a bad image is a complete insult.
I have spent the weekend at many colleges visiting friends, and none have a police force like Coastal. The school is very persistent on busting students for all alcohol-related incidents.
If there is a party of 50 and one student has a beer in his hand and the rest have not been drinking, that is still 50 alcohol violations. The school needs to re-evaluate how they go about alcohol-drug violations and situations that should be kept within the university, but I can assure you the students are not the problem.
