Help prevent kids’ summer brain drain

Freedom Readers, Inc. needs you!

It’s a non-profit literacy organization that is seven years young. It began with a vision by founder Tracey Bailey. Freedom Readers intention is to improve reading skills by providing one-to-one tutoring to lower-income children from kindergarten to fifth grade.

Studies show that most of what is learned during the school year tends to be lost during the summer. Freedom Readers program helps to maintain and improve reading, using an inspiring, high energy environment.

We are looking for caring, committed individuals who love children and reading and would be willing to donate a few hours each week for this worthwhile cause. The greatest need is at our sites in Georgetown and Andrews.

Those interested may contact us at www.freedomreaders.org, at (843) 331-8526, or by mail: P.O. Box 30548 Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29588.

Believe me when I say it will be the most memorable gift you will ever give or receive.

Mary F. Stout, Pawleys Island
