The people wanted Trump; get over it already
Re “Trump is the opposite of what voters say they wanted, hold dear” letter by Frank Menadier.
Mr. Menadier should re-read the Democrats’ talking points again before he writes another article involving politics. President Trump was elected the way we have elected presidents since 1787. There were no exceptions made for Donald Trump - he won and Hillary Clinton lost.
It really is that simple.
The Democrats are looking for a reason they lost, and they only have to look as far as their candidate. She was flawed simply did not have the trust of the people within the U. S.
I understand the left's talking points about the Electoral College versus the popular vote. Clinton won the popular vote by more than 3 million, but we need to examine where those votes originated. She won New York by 1.7 million votes and California by 4 million.
She was a U.S. senator from New York and delivered pork to the state. I am sure they remembered her kindness at the expense of the other states. I really can't speak to California, where Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Adam Schiff and Diane Feinstein call home - where the rich and famous live. Do we want these people making decisions for the rest of the country? I think not.
So, my recommendation to Mr. Menadier and the rest of the Democrats who feel they really won or should have won - get over it.
As President Obama said - elections have consequences. I thank the U.S. Constitution for having the wisdom to allow each state to represent themselves and not allow a large state to control who the president will be at each election.
