Donations and Tootsie Rolls for a good cause
The Conway Council #7531 of the Knights of Columbus of St. James held a couple of fund-raising drives for H.O.P.E. Foundation, which donates the proceeds to support the intellectually-challenged, including students attending Conway and Carolina Forest high schools.
These drives are held at the church and at the entrances of the two Conway Walmarts, but during a recent weekend, the people with smiling faces with the coffee cans and wearing yellow vests with red lettering, were really thankful for the extreme generosity of the people coming off the the bridge at the intersection of Third Street and Main Street.
The Knights volunteer their time and hand out Tootsie Rolls to everyone and thank them for their donations. Except for the minor cost of the candy, the money donated stays in the local area and goes to a great cause.
We thank you for your help.
