Time for unity to begin, protests to end
We are facing many serious issues, including the growing national debt, the high jobless rate, terrorism (home and abroad), and the most serious, a divided country at home, which makes us very vulnerable to delays in addressing our issues as well as shows weakness to our enemies.
We have to give our governing body a chance to govern by putting our disappointments and grudges aside and putting the business of the United States of America first.
Yes, we do have a constitution that allows us to speak our minds. But we should not make it so that it is detrimental to the country. This must include the electronic and print media, which are constantly trying to make news by making provocative statements, which oft times are half truths, or printing pieces which are inflammatory and serve no real purpose.
They should concentrate on the real journalistic reporting that we, as citizens, deserve. We are all in this together whether we want to be or not, and we need to solve these problems together for the good of our country.
Roughly two-thirds of our citizens did not like the direction the country is going. We all had to give President Obama his chance; now it is our turn to give Donald Trump a chance.
Violent protests and vandalism only exacerbates the divisions and make us look like a Third World country.
We have the right to vote and with that comes the responsibility to act like responsible American adults, not like children throwing a hissy fit because things didn’t go their way.
Get a grip so we all can get through our issues together. The longer we linger, the worse it will get.
