Is Trump a beautiful dream? Or nightmare?
Nov. 9, 2016: The Day the Music Died.
The skies over Conway were overcast and dim the morning the news was confirmed. Logic, goodwill and hope had fallen sway to ignorance, negativity and vitriol. It was hard to believe, but he had taken them in with his words. His message to the country:
To women he doesn’t like: You’re fat pigs, you’re dogs (Fox News 2015), I can grab you, do anything I want because I am a star (re video released Oct. 7).
To Hispanics: You’re criminals and rapists (June 2015).
To Muslims: There were thousands of Muslims celebrating 9/11 in the streets of Jersey City (debunked by Politifact, The Washington Post, and The New York Times).
To African Americans: “There’s no such thing as racism anymore” because “we’ve had a black president.”
Regarding Homeland Security: I know more than all the generals.
War Veterans: Sen. John McCain is not a war hero because he was captured (July 2015).
Taxes: Donald Trump did not deny that he had not paid income taxes in years, that in fact that made him smart (CNN debate, Sept. 27).
The man who would be president. Well, he was elected. But will he be a president? Or our worst nightmare?
