Thankful that locals can now reclaim golf courses
Now that the snowbird, blue collar, Joe Six-Pack and his golfing buddies have long returned North, local players have retrieved their clubs from their brief storage and now undeniably have no trouble booking prime tee times to their liking.
Throughout the lucrative snowbird peak play season of February, March and April, there wasn’t a prime tee time to be had for locals.
But now, with the fall season upon us, and winter not too far away, course owners are offering locals numerous inclusive enticements for promoting available tee times. Proof of residence may be requested. Just take a look at some of those perks being offered:
• A sleeve of balls
• Free same-day 9 and 18 hole replays
• Teens are “comped” with parent
• Lunch and two beers after play
• Reduced 9 and 18 hole green fees
• Discounted branded pro shop merchandise
• Reduced green fee for all military, police and fire fighters
• Fivesomes can play after 2 pm
• Reduced cart fees and golf boards
• Reduced fund raising tournament green fees
• Prime time morning tee times and afternoon
With all that said, let’s tee it up.
