Local non-profit must answer for how it uses funds
Re “Students get only $16K of $170K raised by ‘Dancing’ fundraiser” article by The Sun News reporter Christian Boschult.
I read the article two times to make sure I read it correctly. Less than 10 percent of the funds raised went to the stated cause! This is not a fund-raiser. It is, however, a very lucrative part-time job, along with a great part-time salary for Marsha Griffin and, I am sure, others.
I wonder what Bob Calliham was paid to prepare such a simple return. Understanding the fund-raiser is such a worthwhile cause. I wonder what discount Mr. Calliham and others gave to the fund-raiser to further the cause.
This is an eye opener for me, as well as many others in this county. I have never heard of a legitimate fund-raiser giving less than 70 percent of the funds raised to the cause. The operative word is legitimate.
Let's see how the next fund-raiser goes.
