I paid for insurance for half a century and all I got was ... nothing

Re “Storm response great; insurance, not so much” letter by William Campbell.

The title of that letter should have been, “Storm response Great; insurance not at all.”

Having been with the same insurance company for 49 years (my husband has had his auto insurance policy with them for 60 years), what a travesty!

We had never filed an insurance claim - in all these years - until now. With a power outage of more than four days, there was a lot of food spoilage in a full freezer and two refrigerators.

Guess what? It was not covered. It’s only covered if the outage is confined to your home, and not widespread throughout the area.

I hope other folks have had better luck with their insurance company.
