Rice’s accomplishments are plentiful

As Horry County Council chairman, I’ve had the privilege of working with Rep. Tom Rice. I can say with confidence that he deserves another term.

Tom has been a key advocate in the fight to build I-73, a project that was at a stand still before he took office. He was a huge help in getting the I-73 permit application submitted as quickly as it was and has been a staunch supporter every step of the way.

When Horry was rocked by last October’s floods and Hurricane Matthew this year, Rice was in contact with local officials like myself and with FEMA to ensure residents qualified for aid to help rebuild. He also secured $16 million for beach renourishment on our coastline, helping businesses and residents rebuild in the wake of disaster.

Tom Rice is a key ally in Congress and should be re-elected Nov. 8.

Mark Lazarus, Horry County Council Chairman
