Hyman right choice for Seventh Congressional District
The purpose of this micro-letter is to introduce you to my dad, Mal Hyman, who is running for Congress in the Seventh Congressional District of South Carolina.
First and foremost, my dad is an award-winning college professor, not a politician. As a sociologist, he’s spent the past 35 years inspiring students to consider the most important local and global issues of our time. He’s a passionate educator, pairing a razor sharp intellect with a down-to-earth demeanor.
When dad told me that he was going to run for Congress, I said, “You’re going to have to trade in your ball cap for some fancy shirts and bow-ties!”
He laughed and said, “Nah, that’s not really my thing.”
This is a tiny example of the no-frills, no-nonsense, sincerity he brings to this campaign and the honesty that he will take with him to Washington.
I hope that on Nov. 8 you’ll remember this name: Mal Hyman.
Trust me, it’s one vote you can feel good about.
