North Carolina right to stand strong on transgender law

I read about the ACC taking the championship game out of Charlotte. That followed the NCAA’s removal of seven playoff games out of North Carolina. The NBA took the All-Star game out of Charlotte as well. This is all in retaliation for North Carolina’s transgender law.

So, what is a transgender? It appears that this is the smallest minority of all minorities, yet these big-time sport organizations think that they must teach the public and the state a lesson and take their so-called ball and go other places.

Is this not extortion in its highest form?

Our state officials have made a decision that if you possess male parts, you must use the male facilities, and the same for women. These sports organizations have determined that this is not right, that it is OK for men to use female toilets, gyms, locker room, etc.

Now someone is way wrong here, and it is not the state of North Carolina. However, if you surgically change your private parts, then, and only then, can you use the female facilities. Otherwise, you use the facility that goes along with the parts you were given at birth because you really are of that gender.

You know, there was a time that I thought I was a professional golfer, so I worked hard on my game and put in lots of time to make that happen. One thing was missing; I just didn't have what it took to get there. Then I wanted to be an engineer, so I studied and took lots of tests and gained the necessary approval to be an engineer. My point is that you must put in the time to facilitate the necessary changes to become whatever it is you want to be. You just can't get up one morning and think you are Caitlin when you are still Bruce. Bruce can still stand up when he goes to the bathroom.

So what should these high and mighty sports organizations do that would make this good for all? Very simple, just install a trans-toilet facility. Now, they are happy, the extortionists go away, people can enjoy rooting for their teams, and business can make some money in the process.

Politicians are not a fault here. They are making rules for the people who voted them into office. That is the way our government works. The transgender law is right in all of its form and Gov. Pat McCrory should be applauded for his stand on this issue.

We do not make deals with terrorists and should not make deals with extortionists.
