Important issue ignored by Clinton and Trump

Neither of the two candidates running for President has seriously addressed the crumbling infrastructure existing in our nation. Highways, bridges, airports, tunnels, levees, the electric grid and probably many other systems are in a serious state of disrepair.

I am tired of Hillary Clinton bashing Donald Trump and Trump bashing Clinton. In the debate, I wanted to hear specifics on how these candidates would fund the Highway Trust Fund and what priority do they assign to this serious problem.

I am not an economist, but common sense tells me that jobs related to the infrastructure pay better than average wages. Such wages would translate into spending: buying cars, clothes, eating out, travel and possibly even saving.

Taxes would be collected and returned to the treasury, so investing in the crumbling infrastructure is a worthwhile investment. Yet it is not seriously addressed by either candidate.
