A small act in Murrells Inlet made this already-proud American prouder
I would like to share with everyone an action that made me feel extremely proud and humble. I was parked in front of a local post office while my wife was inside to mail something.
A gentleman pulled up next to me and went inside. A short while later, he came out to head to his car. Right in front us was a pole with a large American flag flying in the morning breeze. He caught my eye when he briefly hesitated and I assumed he was shading his eyes from the morning sun. I then realized that he saluted the flag.
Was he a veteran? I will never know other than he was an American who, in his own way, gave a love, a pride, an honor and respect to his country and its flag. In his own way, he made me prouder to be an American than when we started out that morning.
