Political correctness is a major threat to our way of life, including gay people’s

This past weekend’s horrific event in Orlando got me thinking about terrorism and how certain countries have dealt with it. As a Canadian and now U.S. citizen, I would like to share with you some of Canada’s history of dealing with issues of domestic terrorism.

Back in the late 1960s, the citizens of the province of Quebec started to talk about separating from Canada. It was known at the time as the Quite Revolution, a group of people who saw Quebec as a distinct society and hoped to have its own country.

From this peaceful movement arose a movement known as the FLQ, loosely translated, Quebec Liberation Front. These folks were at the extreme and would think nothing of placing bombs in and around Quebec’s largest cities. This group even went so far as to kill a Canadian diplomat.

The prime minister at the time, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, yes, father of Canada’s current prime minister, enacted the War Measures Act. This enabled the authorities to question and arrest anyone they suspected of being associated with this group, similar to what France did right after the attack at the Bataclan in Paris.

What you must understand is that we are now beyond political correctness. Our president spews platitudes, and the Democratic Party’s nominee is not much better. There is a way to deal with these Islamic terrorists. They all have a similar profile, web browsing, travel, and friends. You would think the NSA can easily track many of these activities, certainly the web browsing.

There any peace-loving Muslims going to a website on a regular basis to hear Anwar Al-Alaska’s speeches on Jihad. The perpetrators of all our Islamic-linked domestic terrorist acts had visited these types of sites on a regular basis. So do you not think we could do something about them?

We need to have our own version of the War Measures act, declare war on all who act on behalf of these terrorist groups. By making it a war, we would have the right to treat all of those who help the enemy as traitors.

I know you lefties’ heads are about to explode, but help me understand. You are for gay rights? And you do know that many Muslim countries are intolerant of gays, to the point of arresting, and is some cases, executing them?

Or dare I say you would rather complain about a gay couple in America not able to get a wedding cake. I would be willing to bet that most gay people would do without the cake if they feel someone is fighting to protect them.

So please help me understand, because all I am is a not so enlightened conservative.
