Clinton is not the best choice for president

Re: Subhash Saxena’s Oct. 5 letter, “Clinton is the best choice for president”

The writer stated that Clinton is the best choice for president. I wish to take exception to that claim. I am a member of the 75-80 percent who are traditionalists who believe in God and our Constitution. Over the years we have been forced into silence for fear of being called racist or worse. The leftists in the Democratic Party have cowed us into accepting your politically correct, anti-God and anti-moral agenda.

If you had bothered to read history, you would have discovered that socialist governments where man made the laws have always failed. The God-fearing men who founded our great nation realized that our rights came not from man but from God. We ordinary traditionalists recognized that the framing of our Declaration of Independence, our Bill of Rights and our Constitution was a momentous achievement which gave the people the power and took it away from the government.

It is a fact that America in the first 200 years of our Republic had by 1945 become the the most economically successful, the most moral and the most kind nation the world had ever known. Five thousand years of futile governments yielded a 5000-year leap in human progress when the policies of Hayek, Adam Smith and Friedman were followed. The world needs this powerful, moral and kind nation to stay safe. If we fail, the last great hope of mankind fails.

Your party has worked since 1932 to destroy this free-enterprise economy and replace it with a government which is so big and intrusive that it is destroying our freedom and our morals.

I just want you to know that the citizens are tired of being cowed into agreement with your leftist policies and will oppose your attempt to elect any Democrat as president. The battle is on and we win, you lose.
