Letter | It’s disgusting that more North Myrtle Beach residents don’t recycle

ENVIRONMENT

Recycling is not hard; do it

Every trash pickup day, I am disgusted by residents in my community who don't make the tiny effort it takes to recycle. This letter is for you.

We have curbside recycling pick-up and the city gladly provides free containers. Yet, each week I see your regular trash can overloaded with bottles, cans, paper, and cardboard boxes - all of which can and should be recycled.

Each week I wonder why you don't care enough to do this one small act for our precarious planet. Those who live outside the city limits and routinely make the short drive to one of the many area recycling centers should be commended. But we are fortunate to have home pickup here.

Please be a responsible steward of our environment and recycle as so many of your neighbors do.

Please be kind and respectful; it is easier than you think.
