Mother didn’t have to put baby in trash bin

It broke my heart to think of a mother tossing her newborn baby in the trash like some piece of garbage. She could have, and should have, taken the baby to a police or fire station, a hospital or even a church.

I'll bet somebody in the neighborhood would gladly have taken the baby and seen to her care. I hope the mother gets the help she needs and that the little girl is placed in a loving home.

My prayers are with the little girl.
