Hillary’s impressive record would make her an ideal president

It’s time for Donald Trump and his supporters to stop maligning Hillary Clinton and start examining Trump and his past performance.

Trump’s record is full of lies, innuendos, exaggerations and bullying. By his own account, his supporters would stand by him even if he shot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue. His financial success is based on lies, defaults, deceptions, underpayments and bankruptcies.

According to the Wall Street Journal, he even had Mafia connections.

Many of his business ventures have gone broke. Trump University was a sham that charged almost $35,000 tuition and went out of business after multiple lawsuits. Trump has never admitted his mistakes.

By contrast, Mrs. Clinton admitted her mistake relating to the use of a private email server when she was secretary of state. That decision certainly called for introspection, and it has been scrutinized ad infinitum. It is time to give her a break and move on to more important matters.

Over eight years as a senator from New York and four as secretary of state, Hillary has command of policy and the ability to listen to her constituents and colleagues. Lasting achievements include a law requiring drug companies to improve medication safety, expansion of military benefits to cover reservists and the National Guard, and a federal fund for long-term health monitoring of 9/11 first responders.

She has an impressive record of working for children, women and families. In the Senate, where her likeable ratings were high, she was able to successfully work across the aisle with many Republicans. As secretary of state, Hillary helped negotiate a cease-fire between Hamas and Israel, and her achievements with the leaders of various countries are substantial.

As president, she will create more good-paying jobs, stand up to the gun lobby, create paid family and medical leave, build on health insurance, strive to combat climate change, and end the influence of secret money in politics.

A lifetime of commitment to problem-solving in many levels of government qualifies her to lead the country in the future. Feel free to do your own research to determine who is the better candidate.

I am sure your analysis will agree with mine, and you will vote for Hillary.
