Bone-chilling weather, ‘pretty good’ chance of snow on the way to Myrtle Beach, SC.

Temperatures will dip into the teens in Myrtle Beach this week and bring a “pretty good” chance of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

As of Sunday afternoon, weather conditions are favorable for snowfall late Tuesday, said Stephen Keebler, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wilmington. The coastal areas could get up to 3 inches of snow.

There is a 45% chance of at least 2 inches of snow and a 29% chance of at least 4 inches in Myrtle Beach, according to the NWS. If it does snow, the icy precipitation will likely stick around for a few days.

There’s another chance of wintry precipitation Wednesday night through Thursday night, according to the weather service Sunday afternoon brief.

Temperatures are supposed to reach a high of 32 during the day on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday night will likely dip into 20s while Wednesday night will move into the teens, Bacon said.

Temperatures typically reach the upper 50s this time of year in Myrtle Beach.

Snow will most likely come to Myrtle Beach area Tuesday night, according to NWS meteorologist Mark Bacon. Temperatures will begin to warm up on Thursday, staying in the upper 30s and making it into the 40s on Friday and Saturday.

The last time Myrtle Beach had significant snowfall was in 2018 with Winter Storm Grayson, The Sun News reported.
