Tornado confirmed in greater Myrtle Beach area, as Sunday storm moves through SC

The National Weather Service in Wilmington confirmed a tornado touchdown Sunday afternoon as a coastal storm moved through the Myrtle Beach area.

The touchdown occurred in the greater Myrtle Beach area, west of Highway 22 and south of Highway 90, according to NWS meteorologist Adam Weiner.

Weiner advised residents to stay off the roads and take cover indoors, away from windows.
