The Myrtle Beach area could get a mix of rain, sleet and snow this week, a forecast shows.

The storm is expected to hit Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C. Meteorologists said they are not confident how the weather will progress and are not sure of temperatures at the moment.

Unsafe travel conditions and power outages are likely if there is an accumulation of precipitation, particularly ice, they warn.

The forecast shows that areas east of Interstate 95 has a higher chance of accumulating ice, and areas west of I-95 are more likely to get snow or sleet.
