Trucks caught doing doughnuts on snowy road in Myrtle Beach area. Other snow videos

Horry County residents and organizations took to social media Sunday to post videos and photos of the rare snow storm that hit the area overnight.

The Grand Strand saw between 4 to 7 inches of snow in some areas. While snowfall is expected to end Sunday morning, the area will continue to see extremely cold temperatures Sunday night into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents can expect single digit temperatures through Monday because of wind chills.

Roadways were hazardous Saturday night and Sunday, but that didn’t stop some people from getting on the roadways.

Police and fire crews responded to many accidents and slide offs overnight Saturday. Conway Police posted on its Facebook page that it had six vehicle crashes as of 6 p.m. Saturday, when the area began to see heavy snowfall.

Another Facebook video showed vehicles doing doughnuts in the middle of Highway 707, eventually being stopped as police pulled up to the area.

Myrtle Beach saw about 4 inches overnight. The Loris area had the most snow with 7 inches, according to the NWS.

While many remain hunkered down inside homes, some residents and even pets got out to enjoy the snow.

Meadowlawn Animal Services that has several offices in the Myrtle Beach area posted photos of their pet Bentley frolicking in the snow.

Another man took to dancing in the snow.
