Can you go to the beach on Thanksgiving in Myrtle Beach? Here’s what the forecast says

Will turkey day in the Grand Strand be a beach day?

According to meteorologist Matt Scalora with the National Weather Service out of Wilmington, NC, it’ll be warmer than in years past, meaning that it could be.

A seven day forecast of the Myrtle Beach area shows temperatures that will be above average for Thanksgiving Day, Scalora said.

As of Friday afternoon, he said the forecast is showing 70 degrees with a 30 percent chance of rain on Thanksgiving day.

“It is a little normal above temperatures,” he said, noting that the 70 degree high was about five to 10 degrees above average for Thanksgiving day.

He added that there are no indications of any red flag warnings or rip currents that will be in affect on that day as of Friday.
