Nicole’s threat of tornadoes falls in Myrtle Beach area, weekend weather to clear up
The threat of isolated tornadoes from Tropical Depression Nicole will decrease throughout Friday, according to the latest briefing. There is still a slight risk for the area of northeast SC and southeast NC through Friday.
Locally higher gusts in excess of 45 mph outside of any thunderstorms are still possible, the National Weather Service said. Saturday will have decreasing clouds and Sunday will be mostly sunny, according to a weekend forecast.
There is still a high surf advisory in effect for the area until early Saturday. A surf report shows that waves Friday will be 4-5 ft and choppy.
