Memorial Day weather forecast in Myrtle Beach: Planning your celebration rain or shine

Myrtle Beach can’t seem to pass a single week without at least a little bit of rain these days, and that rings true this weekend.

Rain is likely — 70% chance — on Friday starting midday and heading into the evening, with a possible chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Going to Bike Fest in Atlantic Beach? Rain has never stopped it in the past, with bikers braving the rain for music, socializing and food.

The weather will clear up Saturday. There will be a slight chance of rain in the morning, but the storms should move past by mid-afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Sunday and Monday will be perfectly sunny, with highs near 83 and 84.

Planning to hit the beach once the rain clears up? Just remember, the Atlantic Ocean still might be a little chilly this time of year for some visitors. The water is often its warmest by midsummer and heading into the early fall.
