A chill in the air in Myrtle Beach is expected this week, with temperatures forecast to drop below freezing some nights.

The National Weather Service (NWS) estimates the low temperature Tuesday night will be in the low 30s Fahrenheit, dropping below freezing. During the day, the high temperature is around 44 degrees Fahrenheit, when the high is typically around 56 degrees Fahrenheit throughout January.

The temperature is expected to creep up to the high 40s or low 50s by Wednesday, the NWS says. A chance of rain is expected Wednesday night.

Wednesday night and Thursday night, the low temperature is forecast in the low 40s, but not expected to fall below freezing again until the weekend, according to the NWS. Saturday and Sunday nights could be cold, with low temperatures at 35 degrees and 32 degrees, respectively.
