People in Myrtle Beach will be greeted by crisper air when stepping outside this week.

Following a cold front over the weekend, temperatures in Myrtle Beach have dropped significantly, bringing fall weather to the area. Over the next several days, people can expect clear skies and sun accompanied by cooler temperatures.

Through Tuesday, the high is expected to reach the 70s while the low is forecast in the 50s, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). By Wednesday night, the forecast low temperature reaches 62 degrees Fahrenheit and increases to 68 degrees Fahrenheit by Thursday night.

A relatively low 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected Friday, according to the NWS.

The weekend is expected to be clear but cool, with highs in the low 70s both Saturday and Sunday.

Even though temperatures have fallen, hurricanes are still possible, an NWS forecaster told The Sun News last week. Hurricanes that form in October and November are likely to form closer to land, and people should keep severe weather on their radar even as temperatures become less extreme.
