Police: Suspects kidnapped, raped woman who was walking in Rock Hill

Two men have been charged with kidnapping and raping a woman who was walking down the street, and Rock Hill Police are seeking a third suspect.

Taiwan Lamont Carter, 36, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and criminal conspiracy, according to jail records. He remained in the York County Detention Center on Wednesday without bond.

Michael Antwan White, 38, was arrested Tuesday on the same charges. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where a judge denied bond.

The assault happened late Sunday evening, according to a police report. The victim was walking on an unspecified road in Rock Hill when some “older” men grabbed her and put her in the back of a white car that had dark tinted windows.

The victim told officers that the men drove her around, calling each other by nicknames. They drove to the home of one of the suspects, where the victim said she saw “a bag of cocaine.”

The men put the victim back in the car and drove her to an unknown location on another street in the city limits, where they took her to a gray and blue shed and raped her, police said. The victim was able to describe a tattoo on one of the suspects for police.

After raping the woman, the suspects drove her to a church, where they “threw her out of the car and stated they would kill her if she ever told,” the report states. She went back to her home and was removing her clothes when a piece of paper fell out of her bra, on which she said there are two phone numbers written.

Investigators are still searching for a third suspect in the assault, but a police spokesman said Wednesday that they are not identifying him at this time.
