Deputies are searching for a man who they say tried to shoot an ex-girlfriend while she was in a vehicle with her three children.
The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. The victim was in the 4100 block of Winter Park Drive, not far from Bluff Road, and tried to leave the area.
As the victim tried to drive away, the suspect jumped on top of the vehicle and pointed a handgun at her, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Curtis Wilson said. The victim was able to drive away and went to Flamingo Drive.
The suspect followed the victim to Flamingo Drive, where he once again jumped on the vehicle – then jumped off the vehicle and fired at the victim through the windshield, Wilson said.
