Woman fatally shoots man after arguing about laundry, South Carolina police say
A man was shot and killed Wednesday night after arguing with a woman about missing laundry, according to South Carolina officials.
Michael C. Boston, a 41-year-old Greenwood resident, was identified as the homicide victim, the Greenwood County Coroner’s Office said Thursday in a news release.
Late Wednesday night, the coroner’s office was called to the emergency room at Self Regional Medical Center where a shooting victim, later identified as Boston, was treated, according to the release. Boston was pronounced dead at 11:37 p.m., the coroner’s office said.
No other injuries were reported.
Boston had been discovered by Greenwood Police Department officers, who had responded to reports of a shooting in the 800 block of South Main Street, police said.
An investigation shows that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between Boston and a female neighbor regarding missing clothing from a communal laundry room, according to police. During the altercation, 24-year-old Breosche Floyd got a handgun and shot Boston, police said.
Floyd was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to police. On Thursday, Floyd was booked into the Greenwood County Detention Center where she remains locked up after bond was denied on both charges, jail records show.
Despite Floyd’s arrest, Boston’s death continues to be investigated by police and the coroner’s office.
