9-year-old boy’s body found in burning South Carolina home, coroner says
A 9-year-old South Carolina boy’s body was discovered Tuesday night at a house fire, according to the Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office.
Holly Hill resident Shiquan Williams died at the scene, Coroner Sean Fogle said Wednesday in a news release.
Neither the manner nor cause of death have been released by the coroner’s office, but an autopsy has been scheduled for later this week, according to the release.
The fire was at Shiquan’s home in the 2400 block of Dawson Street, the coroner’s office said.
No other injuries were reported.
Information about what time the fire was reported, and how long it took to extinguish the blaze, was not available.
There was no word about where the fire originated, or the cause of the fire. Officials did not say if foul play was suspected.
One day earlier, two young girls were killed in an Aiken County house fire, that also left two of their siblings hospitalized along with their mother.
Serahya Jordan, 6, and Deandolyn Jordan, 8, died within minutes of each other at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, following a fire at their Gloverville home, Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said. A third sibling was in critical condition, while the mother and a fourth sibling suffered what the Aiken County coroner called non-life threatening injuries.
