Fox & Friends filmed a live Veterans Day segment at this SC restaurant. Take a look
Hundreds of people lined up to visit Veterans Cafe and Grille in Myrtle Beach Monday morning to celebrate Veterans Day at a live taping of the Fox & Friends segment Breakfast with Friends.
The crew led patrons in chants of “USA” during the filming, while Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt took pictures and spoke with veterans and diners. The show played live on TVs throughout the restaurant as visitors looked on.
Veterans Cafe and Grille, which is operated by Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center, caters to veterans in the Grand Strand and offers a military mini museum.
Outside the restaurant, businesses and nonprofit organizations like the Nurses Honor Guard of South Carolina lined the parking lot in booths. The restaurant was completely full during the taping, with dozens more patrons lined up outside the restaurant.
According to CEO Scott Dulebohn, patrons were already waiting to get in when he arrived at 3:45 a.m. Dulebohn estimated some 300 people came out to Veterans Cafe and Grille Monday morning.
“I didn’t expect the crowd that was here this morning. We got here at 5:30 in the morning,” said Myrtle Beach resident Magali Leogrande, who estimated she and her husband Steven waited 2 and a half hours to get into the restaurant. “The wait wasn’t too bad because we got to talk to wonderful people.”
At the end of the 3-hour event, Air Force veteran and country music singer Tyler Kinch debuted his new song, “Frontlines,” live in the restaurant.
In addition to the Breakfast with Friends taping, Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center held its fourth-annual Welcome Home Golf Tournament on Veterans Day in Little River.
