Search ends after missing Midlands woman is located in the Upstate, cops say

A search for a missing Midlands woman ended when she was located, the Sumter Police Department said.

Laniya Tyshauna Singleton was found in the Upstate police said hours after asking for the community’s help tracking down the 22-year-old.

Singleton was last seen at about 3 a.m., police said in a news release. The Sumter resident left her children with her mother, according to the release.

Family members told police it was unusual for Singleton to leave like that.

Information if Singleton was alone when she left was not available. There was no word on her condition when Singleton was tracked down.
