North Carolina teacher killed when hit by day care bus
Police in Goldsboro say a second-grade teacher has died after he was struck in his school’s parking lot by a bus from a day care center.
Local media outlets report 25-year-old Brandon Kincaid was hit by a private bus from the day care around 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Kincaid was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he died.
An investigation into the accident is underway. Kincaid was a teacher at Meadow Lane Elementary School, and the Goldsboro City Schools say he was in his second year of teaching.
School system spokesman Ken Derksen said Kincaid had a physical disability that required him to use a wheelchair, but he couldn’t confirm whether Kincaid was in the wheelchair when the bus struck him.
