14-year-old runaway ‘camped out’ overnight inside Bed, Bath & Beyond, NC cops say

Employees at a North Carolina Bed, Bath & Beyond got quite the surprise on Monday.

When they arrived to open a store in Greenville at about 8:30 a.m., they discovered someone hiding inside and called police, according to Kristen Hunter, spokesperson for the Greenville Police Department.

Officers responded to the store for a “breaking and entering in progress” and found the person.

It turned out he was a 14-year-old who had “camped out” in the Bed, Bath & Beyond overnight after running away from home, Hunter says.

The teen was OK and was taken back to his house, according to Hunter.

His name has not been released.
