A Carolinas amusement park is the scene of a malfunctioning roller coaster for the third straight week.

WSOC reports the newest and tallest ride at Carowinds stopped in midair Saturday night, stranding riders for about 20 minutes.

A spokesperson for the park on the North Carolina and South Carolina border said a sensor on the Fury 325 roller coaster detected a problem and stopped the ride as a safety precaution. No injuries were reported and passengers climbed stairs down to the ground.

A ride stopped last week, dangling riders 150 feet in the air. The weekend before, a roller coaster designed for children got stuck, stranding almost two dozen people more than 20 feet in the air.
