North Myrtle Beach 2025 election results: Who is new mayor and council members
The preliminary results are in, and J. Bladwin will serve as the next mayor of North Myrtle Beach.
Residents also on Tuesday voted in Bubba Collins, Jennifer McCumbee and Trey Skidmore to serve on the North Myrtle Beach City Council.
North Myrtle Beach’s new mayor
After six-term Mayor Marilyn Hatley chose not to seek reelection, voters had their choice of current Mayor Pro Tem and longtime city councilman J. Baldwin, former city manager Mike Mahaney and businessman Troy Spencer.
On Tuesday, voters made their voices heard, electing J. Baldwin as the next mayor of North Myrtle Beach. According to preliminary results, Baldwin received 4,122 of 5,877 votes.
In his campaign, Baldwin spoke about the importance of slowing residential development, preserving remaining land, maintaining tourism to support taxes and supporting the business community.
His campaign platform also promised to focus on supplying first responders and law enforcement with adequate resources, improving infrastructure and increasing government transparency and accountability.
North Myrtle Beach’s at-large council member
Incumbent councilman at-large Trey Skidmore was first elected to North Myrtle Beach City Council in 2021. During his campaign, Skidmore emphasized the importance of fighting overdevelopment at events. His platform also included improving infrastructure, keeping taxes low and supporting first responders and law enforcement.
Unofficial results show Skidmore won 4,184 out of 5,697 votes.
North Myrtle Beach’s Ocean Drive council member
The Ocean Drive council seat was the only unopposed race in the North Myrtle Beach. Incumbent Bubba Collins of Bubba Collins Insurance has worked in insurance for decades and served on Myrtle Beach City Council since 2021.
Collins received 4,676 out of 4,741 ballots according to preliminary results.
North Myrtle Beach’s Windy Hill council member
With years of experience as a local businesswoman in the medical industry with MedCare, Jeri McCumbee will begin her first council term in January. Her campaign platform highlighted controlling development, practicing fiscal responsibility and keeping crime rates low.
Based on unofficial results, McCumbee received 2,965 out of 5,599 votes.
Although the preliminary numbers are in, the election results aren’t yet official. North Myrtle Beach’s election commission will meet to certify the election results Thursday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m.
