Answer | As Treasurer, I will make oversight and fiscal management my top priority and will work diligently to increase communication with the people of Horry County, while also enhancing accessibility and responsiveness at the Treasurer's office. I will also put necessary safe guards in place to eliminate careless errors and to ensure full compliance with state and local laws. I started working in the Horry County Treasurer’s office in August of 2001 as a revenue collector in the Business License Hospitality Fee division. Then in January of 2005, I was promoted to manager by former Treasurer, Johnny Allen. In July 2005, I was promoted to deputy treasurer by Treasurer Roddy Dickinson.

Question | How can the Treasurer better serve the residents of Horry County, and what changes need to be made in that office?

Answer | For the past 15 years, I have served the citizens of Horry County in the Treasurer's Office as an experienced leader and successful team builder. My candidacy has the endorsement of current Treasurer, Roddy Dickinson, and former Treasurer, Johnny C. Allen. The treasurer can better serve citizens by continuing to improve customer service through enhancing technology, allowing more competition for a better return on investment, and having an open door policy. Our current treasurer has been diligent about making the necessary changes to maintain a successful office as technology and laws continue to change. As an elected official, you are responsible to the citizens to continuously improve the services the office provides.
