Question | How can the Clerk of the Court better serve the residents of Horry County? What changes need to be made in that office?
Answer | I believe that the clerk of court can better serve the residents of Horry County by improving upon customer service, technology and court room efficiency. Technology in the clerk’s office needs much improvement. We can use technology to improve upon the collection and dispersion of child support, the payment of court fees and other fees. We will not be substituting technology for personal service, however. When you call the clerk’s office under my watch, we will answer the phone. There will be no automation there, and you will not have to press one for anything.
